In a shocking fashion, a Hyderabad-based TV anchor for Gemini Telugu Music Channel in India ended her life while a Skype call with her fiancé was on progress at a Secunderabad hostel room.

The 23-year-old K Nirosha allegedly had an argument with his boyfriend based in Canada and threatened to kill herself. She did follow up on her threat as she tied herself to the ceiling fan while the call was still on. In a desperate rush to save her life, his Canada-based boyfriend Ritwik tried to reach the hostel management to no avail. By the time the police arrived, it was already too late.

"Nirosha was on a video call with Ritwik when she revealed him her intention to commit suicide. We understand that they had a heated argument that led her to take the extreme step. According to Ritwik, while he was trying to pacify her, she hanged herself with a dupatta from the ceiling fan and the call ended abruptly," Ramgopalpet Sub Inspector Krishna Mohan said as quoted by Ahmedabad Mirror.

As reported by India Times, the police documented the case under suspicious circumstances in Section 174 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

If Ritwik is found guilty for abetment to suicide, he'll have to spend some time in jail which makes Nirosha's parents' statements extremely crucial to the outcome of the investigation.

However, Nirosha's father Ramakrishna, a Chitoor-based businessman dismissed any serious differences going on between her daughter and Ritwik as their engagement was already planned for next month.

"She'd get severe stomach pains and get irritated during periods. That might have led her to commit suicide," the father reportedly said as mentioned in a Mumbai Mirror report.

The young TV anchor's death occurred just days after another media personality reportedly poisoned himself to death. Tamil TV actor Sai Prashanth allegedly committed suicide due to his extreme job-related pressures as mentioned in a report by First Post.
