Lebron James Tell Teammates Not to Party Too Much in Los Angeles
Before going for four-game West Coast road trip Lebron James told his teammates not to part too hard in Los Angeles.
He wanted his teammates to be extra focused despite being in Hollywood area.
In an interview with Akron Beacon Journal J.R. Smith said "(LeBron's) main message was that this is a business trip," "Are we going to have fun? Absolutely, but first things first. We're going to take care of business, and that's playing the way we know how to play. Fortunately, we took heed of his message and played the way we were supposed to." "Guys understood what this trip was about," James said. "This is a business trip and they get an opportunity to be in a great city but at the end of the day, we knew what the main thing was and that was to continue the momentum that we've been on. We came out and took care of business."
"You can certainly get caught up in the weather and stuff like that," Smith said added.
As a result The Cleveland Cavaliers stayed focused and strong during their 114-90 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday. LeBron James nailed 27 points and Cleveland beat the Clippers with 3-pointers in a 114-90 victory Sunday, tying their season high with 18 three pointers.
"Channing coming out and making those threes kind of became contagious," Cavs coach Tyronn Lue said. "LeBron set the tone early with his pace, getting rebounds, pushing it. It wasn't all for himself. He got the other guys involved making shots."
The Cavs started off the trip firmly by beating the Lakers, 120-108, on Thursday.
Cleveland is on 3-0 run on its current West Coast road trip thanks to those two wins and a 120-111 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday.
Defnitely, Lebron is learning how to keep his teammates focused as well and time will tell if he can keep his teammates focused in the playoffs as well.
