Gwyneth Paltrow Stalker Still Considered As Real Threat Despite Being Acquitted By The Jury
Tough week for Gwyneth Paltrow as her stalker allegedly harassing him since 2009 was released from any court and police jurisdiction as the jury found him not guilty of the felony stalking charges.
Despite the jury's decision, the LAPD (via TMZ) still considered Dante Soiu a threat to the actress due to his 'signs of mental instability over a period of years, and a dangerous obsession.'
LAPD officers will also set an appointment with prosecutors and will look into other possibilities to bring up the case again and hopefully can arrive at a better conclusion in favor of the actress' welfare.
Dante Soiu, 66 was arrested last year after 15 years of sending her letters with lewd messages and unwanted gifts. According to Chron, Soiu was not found guilty but last year's decision led him to be put in a mental institution for several years.
This year, the accused assured that he has changed and has rectified his previous statement that he wanted to marry the actress-entrepreneur.
"I was trying to show I had changed and I had become a different person. I wanted to show a new face towards her. I wanted her to say flat out, 'I don't want to marry you'. That way I would have a definite response from her," he said last week.
The Ohio-native also said that he did not to do any harm to his idol.
"I was very lonely. I wanted to have a pen pal," he said as mentioned by Cincinnati.com.
Paltrow insistently claimed that the man is a threat to her safety since the start of the trials on February 8. She mentioned that, in his letters, the stalker threatened to 'use a scalpel to cut out sin' in her body. In another instance, he mentioned the phrase 'bowing to death' which scared the actress.
"I felt very upset by it. This has been a very long and very traumatic experience already," the award-winning actress said on Wednesday.
