Matt Barnes Ends Year with Epic Rant, is Happy to Put 2015 behind him
Memphis Grizzlies Matt Barnes is happy to put 2015 behind him.
In celebration of the New Year, Barnes, 35, uploaded a picture post on Instagram that read, "Success is what happens when you survive all of your mistakes." Accompanying the post was a lengthy caption, describing all of the things he had to go through in 2015.
His post started with a mini rant about how he lost the love of his life and the mother of his children. He continued talking about getting traded and having to leave the city that he loved. His rant then escalated when he went into more depth about his personal life.
It read: "Lied on by a pop star/ Who's lucky I stuck to the script & didn't expose her lien ass/ Funny thing about texts & pics is they DONT LIE! 'I Guess' 'They call that getting played' *Last BUT NOT LEAST... Being stuck in the 'triangle offense' w my ex & snitch, I mean former teammate & friend.. Who went behind my back, messed w my ex, got caught, got dealt w for being a snake, then ran & told the Police & NBA...Guess cause I didn't SNITCH, I get a 2 game suspension by the league 'They call that LIFE'"
Barnes was referencing to the physical fight between him and ex-teammate Derek Fisher, who is now the head coach of the New York Knicks. The physical alteration got Barnes a two-game suspension from the NBA.
After the rant, Barnes offered some piece of advice for people who might be in a similar situation.
He continued: "This is for all of you who had a F@#%ed up year... To let you know I'm right there w you, We In this together! Everyone has ups & downs in this game called LIFE... It gets better.... 'I think' Hahaa nah it does, trust me! --- -Remember God gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers!!!/-Stay positive, hold ya head, tighten your circle & stick to your instincts../-It's not about how many times you fall down, it's about how many times you get up!"
The athlete ended the entire post wishing everyone a happy new year.
Barnes is averaging 8.6 points this season with 5.0 rebounds.
