Google Is Still Trying To Push Google Glass Mainstream, Patents Slimmer Design For V2.0

Google Glass, even after 22 months of inception, is trying to be mainstream. Blame it on the form-factor or the price. However, it seems like Google is taking care of the form-factor part at least in the second edition of Google Glass.

According to a latest patent filing for Google Glass, the next version appears to be slimmed down that wouldn't take up as much facial real estate as the current Google Glass Explorer edition.

The new design appears to be bit more modular than before and all the components are housed in the main body rather than throughout the entire band.

The patent also suggests a much longer screen than version one.

The new design could get rid of the casing overhanging the left ear while shortening the casing that hangs in front of the eye. The single-unit piece, Glass's main component can be fitted just about anywhere - such as on the helmets and on the eye wear of your choice.

The future of Google Glass remains uncertain though. App developers and backers have dropped out and bans at theaters continue to persist. However, the Glass is findings its utility in the Medical field where Doctors and Nurses are doing wonderful things with it.
