Battling Intense Anxiety, Kim Kardashian Gives Birth To Baby Boy
Kim Kardashian and her rapper husband Kayne West welcomed their second born, a baby boy, on Saturday.
A message posted to the reality star's website revealed that both mother and son are well. E!Online reports that Kim's baby, brother to her first child North West, was in a breech position a week before delivery. She underwent a procedure called external cephalic version to turn the baby into a head-first position. She reportedly wrote on her website the procedure involved a risk of C-section. Kim delivered her son naturally but it was not without anxiety.
"Kim was having some intense contractions last night but everything went fairly smoothly and she's so happy to have the baby here. She's resting now. She had some pretty intense anxiety the last couple of days and especially yesterday just before the baby came. But everything went according to plan," a source told People.
Kim's second delivery is also her second tryst with a difficult pregnancy. After several failed attempts at getting pregnant, the 35-year-old announced her pregnancy earlier this year. Her concerns about having a difficult delivery stemmed from her first delivery, which took place at just 34 weeks due to preeclampsia.
"It feels so good to not have the stress of thinking I need a C-section," Kim wrote on her website, according to Hollywood Life.
