All About Google And NORAD’s Santa Trackers
Santa is under surveillance - by Google and NORAD. The Santa Tracker launched by the both organizations features an interactive interface sporting a countdown timer until Christmas Eve (December 24).
Santa Tracker by Google is an interactive website that includes number of games and coding courses for kids.
"Starting today, the elves are back on the clock in the North Pole-and throughout the month of December, you can join the elves as they unlock a new project or game each day in preparation for Santa's annual journey around the world," announced Sandy Russell, Santa Launch Strategist in Google's blog.
The website leads users to Santa's Village, which has number of games such as skydiving and reindeer racing. The website also allows users to gain knowledge on different holiday traditions along with Javascript tutorials.
Apart from a web interface, the tracker from Google is also available as an app on Android and as an extension on Chrome browser.
NORAD's Santa Tracker is the product of its collaboration with Microsoft. In addition to website itself, NORAD and Microsoft have released iOS, Android and Windows Phone apps that can help monitor Santa's movement on the go. Windows Phone users can even ask their voice assistant Cortana questions like "Where is Santa now?".
NORAD's Santa Tracker features a section called NORAD HQ where they inform users about the history of Santa tracking, like why and how they track Santa.
