Bill Cosby Charged with Defamation Lawsuit for Denying Sexual Abuse
A woman in Pennsylvania who appeared with Bill Cosby in 1980 show for children as a teen has slapped charges of defamation, citing refusal by his wife and attorney of allegations that he sexually abused her. Renita Hill has for the third time filed a lawsuit against Cosby and his camp for denying the victim's allegations. A Massachusetts federal judge refused to pay heed to the dismissing the defamation lawsuit and agreed with the attorney of three women who were victims of Cosby, that statements made by Cosby's PR representatives and the lawyers are nothing but Cosby's words, reported LA Times.
The lawsuit was filed by Renita Hill living in the suburbs of Pittsburgh said that the incident occurred when Cosby paid for her housing and college tuition until she broke off all contact with him in 1987. Hill is not one but one of the many other women who accused him of similar mistreatment in 1960. However, there are only a few women who actually came forward to sue him. Hill is the fourth woman who charged him with defamation after he denied the accusations of assaulting her, as per WDRB.com
Hill never said a word about her encounter with Cosby until she was emboldened by other women who came forward, as told to a local Pittsburgh TV station. Cosby's representatives called Hill a liar and that she is trying to extort money from the famous comedian. Bill Cosby, 78, cannot be reached for comment immediately and his lawyers deny any misconduct by the actor. They also solidify their claim by saying that the famous actor has never once been criminally charged for the allegations that have been imposed on him by more than dozen accusers, says Reuters.
