George R.R. Martin, the author behind the series, "A Song of Ice and Fire," released a book on Tuesday! Unfortunately for fans, the book was not the highly anticipated sixth book, "Winds of Winter," but rather, a compilation of three prequel novels that were put together into one book titled, "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms."

"A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" takes readers back to the time when the Targaryens held the Iron Throne while their dragons roamed around Westeros. The stories follow Dunk, the hedge knight Ser Duncan the Tall and his squire, Egg, who alter becomes King Aegon V Targaryen.

The summary of the book reads (via Amazon):

"Before Tyrion Lannister and Podrick Payne, there was Dunk and Egg. A young, naïve but ultimately courageous hedge knight, Ser Duncan the Tall towers above his rivals-in stature if not experience. Tagging along is his diminutive squire, a boy called Egg-whose true name is hidden from all he and Dunk encounter. Though more improbable heroes may not be found in all of Westeros, great destinies lay ahead for these two . . . as do powerful foes, royal intrigue, and outrageous exploits."

The three-prequel novels have already been published previously in other collections. "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms," however, is the first time that all three prequels are in one volume. The book includes more than 160 illustrations from Gary Gianni.

The book is selling for $18 (hardcover) and $14.99 for the kindle edition.

Fans can busy themselves with this book while they wait for "Winds of Winter." The book still does not have an official release date. The rumors are claiming that the book will be released in early 2016 before the premiere date for the HBO show, "Games of Thrones," which is based from Martin's series.
