‘Dance Moms’ Cast Update: Maddie Ziegler to Return in a Limited Role?

Maddie Ziegler is returning to season six of Lifetime's reality TV show, "Dance Moms," but will her role be limited due to her busy schedule?

Ziegler, 13, will be starring alongside several big name actors in the Colin Trevorrow-directed movie, "The Book of Henry." Trevorrow directed this summer's blockbuster, "Jurassic World," which starred Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard.

The long list of stars in that are attached to the "The Book of Henry" include two-time Oscar nominee Naomi Watts, Dean Norris, Lee Pace, Sarah Silverman and Bobby Moynihan.

Ziegler is not the only child actor in the movie. She will be starring next to Jacob Tremblay and Jaeden Lieberher. "The Book of Henry," which is rumored to be about a single mother raising her two sons with one being a genius, has already started filming in New York City. The script was written by Gregg Hurwitz.

Since "Dance Moms" is also being filmed at this time, it seems like Ziegler will have to juggle both commitments. Due to Ziegler's statements about wanting to pursue her acting career, many people have speculated that she will be more focused on doing movies and therefore, her role on "Dance Moms" might get smaller and smaller.

This is Ziegler's second role in a movie. She is reportedly also starring in a Sia-directed movie titled "Sister." Ziegler has danced for two of Sia's music videos, "Chandelier" and "Elastic Heart."

In other "Dance Moms" news, dance teacher Abby Lee Miller is definitely returning next season. Miller was rumored to be departing after season five due to contract payment issues but those problems seem to have been resolved.

Cathy Nesbitt-Stein is still rumored to be coming back even though Miller is not leaving the show. Nesbitt-Stein had to leave the show in the past due to scheduling conflicts. The dance teacher talked about how the moms from the show liked her a lot when she was on it.

"However, I don't think the team of moms is as close to her as they are to me," she said. "Jeanette's [Cota] personality is completely different from mine. Jeanette definitely cannot replace Cathy!"
