How you look at life may be controlled by genes, affecting even your life expectancy, if you go by a new video  from Canada-based group AsapScience. This video has already bagged 700,000 views, topping YouTube's top 100 list.

Genes even affect your "mood, outlook and the facilitation of serotonin, the hormone associated with happiness", according to HNGN.

It is the oxytocin receptor gene or the love hormone, which could be of any length, making all the difference on whether you concentrate on the positive or negative fallouts of life.

It is all in the allele! A long one points to a happy and positive person, while a short one indicates a person who sees the glass as half-empty.

There are plus points in both. The positive kinds are the successful ones, who score high in their academics. The nay-sayers tend to be more cautious and not likely to make too many errors, according to the Daily Mail.

AsapScience has a record of interesting viral videos, on issues such as "community college vs. Harvard" or "whether masturbation is actually good for you at all."
