Cleveland Cavaliers Rumors: LeBron James Puts Pressure on Team to End Tristan Thompson Holdout
LeBron James is finally putting some pressure on the Cleveland Cavaliers to end the holdout with Tristan Thompson. James posted a photo of himself with Thompson in black tuxes at a mutual friend's wedding. The caption read, "Get it done!!!! Straight up. #MissMyBrother @realtristan13"

Thompson, who is a restricted free agent, did not sign the one-year qualifying offer. He now has the options of signing the Cavaliers' five-year, $80 million offer, hoping that another team will offer him the max contract he wants and sign with them, or continue holding out until the Cavaliers offer him a better deal.
If Thompson does not get a better deal, he can holdout for the entire season and do the process all over again next summer when he would still be a restricted free agent. Thompson and his agent, Rich Paul, who is also James' agent, reportedly want a max offer of five-years, $94 million or three-years worth $53 million.
James, who did not comment about the holdout until the Saturday night post, wants Thompson to be at the practices and James usually gets what he wants.
Kurt Helin of NBCSports.com noted that James' leverage here might not be enough. Helin wrote:
"LeBron's leverage is going to be put to the test. The Cavaliers have let it leak they are not that concerned about LeBron leaving them next summer over this - and they're right. The damage to LeBron's brand if he broke the hearts of Cleveland fans again would be crushing, unless he leaves for a very good reason. Overpaying Thompson is not that reason.
However, LeBron's comment could push the Cavaliers to try to find a compromise."
The ownership group in Cleveland is set to pay the highest luxury tax mark over the next few seasons.
