‘Fifty Shades Darker’ Latest Update: No One Confirmed to play Jack Hyde, Eleanor Lincoln and Leila Williams
None of the cast rumors surrounding "Fifty Shades Darker," the sequel to "Fifty Shades of Grey," are true. Dana Brunetti, the producer of the erotica trilogy that is based on E.L. James' books, debunked all of the rumors when he revealed that they have yet to hire a casting director.
"We're nowhere near casting. We haven't gotten into anything like that. We don't even have a casting director on it yet," Brunetti said. "It's so insane. Somebody posts something on some obscure blog and then it gets picked up by something a little less obscure and it keeps going. Fans are starting the news by saying things like (the Henry Cavill casting)."
For months, the British "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" actor was linked to playing Jack Hyde, Anastasia Steele's (Dakota Johnson) boss. After Cavill dispelled the rumors, fans were quick to start new ones. The more recent rumors claimed that "Vampire Diaries" actor, Ian Somerhalder and "Divergent's" Theo James were the favorites to play Hyde.
Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron has been tied to the role of Elena Lincoln/Mrs. Robinson for months now. Theron has not commented on these rumors at all. The role of Leila Williams was most recently linked to Alexis Bledel, best known for her work on "Gilmore Girls." Prior to Bledel, supermodel-turned-actress, Cara Delevingne, who starred in "Paper Towns," was rumored to play Williams.
Aside from these cast rumors, fans have been wondering whether or not lead actor, Jamie Dornan, who plays billionaire Christian Grey, will go full frontal. The latest reports believe that in order to get a good rating, the movie will not feature such a graphic scene. If the movie gets an NC-17 rating, the opening and release of the film would then be very limited.
"Fifty Shades Darker" hits theaters on Feb. 10, 2017. Production is starting early next year.
