Paul Walker's Daughter Sues Porsche For Actor's Fatal Car Crash
Paul Walker's 16-year old daughter, Meadow is suing Porsche for its alleged unsafe, defective car that lead to the actor's death in November 2013.
In a lawsuit, Meadow Rain Walker pointed out that the Fast and Furious actor succumbed to a 'wrongful death' with the car company taking safety shortcuts in their Porsche Carrera GT that the actor is using that day, BBC said.
As stated in a website, the seatbelt "snapped Walker's torso back with thousands of pounds of force, thereby breaking his ribs and pelvis" and is preventing him to get out while his vehicle caught fire.
The legal document further said that the Porsche car lacked "features that could have prevented the accident or, at a minimum, allowed Paul Walker to survive the crash".
The lawsuit filed on Monday with the actor's attorney, Jeff Milam, seek unspecified damages for defects saying that 'the Porsche Carrera GT is a dangerous car.'
However, Calvin Kim, a representative for Porsche Cars North America, said that the car company is not taking legal obligations and is not commenting about the actor's death, CNN said.
As we have said before, we are saddened whenever anyone is hurt in a Porsche vehicle, but we believe the authorities' reports in this case clearly established that this tragic crash resulted from reckless driving and excessive speed," Calvin Kim said.
As first reported in TMZ via USA Today, the 39-year old would have survived had he not been trapped inside his Porsche.
"Paul Walker survived the impact of the crash that took his life but suffered horrifically as he was burned alive."
Meadow Rain Walker announced on Instagram in September the establishment of the Paul Walker Foundation that gives scholarship grants and assistance to deserving students who want to pursue a career in marine science.
