YouTube's 2-In-1 Subscription Service Coming In October

The plan is to launch a two-in-one subscriptions service by October end. Music as well as ad-free videos will be given at a price, according to The International Business Times.

More options will be offered by the video-sharing website, which has planned the subscription service since last year.

Hence, by October end, YouTube will give a $10 subscription for users, exposing them to have the ability to listen to a diverse array of licensed music with offline access, background playback and videos which do not have the mandatory ads imposed by regular free service.

"We are progressing according to plan to provide fans more options in how they enjoy content on YouTube," explained a company representative. "We have support from the overwhelming majority of our partners, with over 95 percent of YouTube watch-time covered by agreements, and more in the pipeline about to close."

A few feel that the service is too cheap, as the price only covers costs from music rights, according to HNGN.

Monetization efforts have always fallen through, but recent emails to content owners show that the company is committed to the new subscription offering.

"As you heard in our previous emails, we want to ensure that fans who choose to pay for an ads-free experience can watch all the same videos that are available on the ads-supported experience. That's why we're asking you to update your agreement to reflect the updated terms for the ads-free service," the company told its content producers.

"If you haven't signed by that date, your videos will no longer be available for public display or monetization in the United States."
