Benedict Cumberbatch Sophie Hunter Relationship Updates: Couple Baptized Baby Boy At Isle Of Wight
Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter formally welcomed their newborn son, Christopher Carlton Cumberbatch, in the British community this week.
Known for keeping their private lives under wraps, the couple held the ceremony at the Isle of Wight in Mottistone with their close friends and family, The Daily Time Gazette reported.
Cumberbatch, 39 and Hunter, 37 then took their crowd to the Sun Inn in Hulverstone after the christening, Isle of Wight County Press Online said.
Though no available for the baby's christening are available yet, Indian Express said that the three-month old baby is wearing a white frilly gown with intricate mesh in it.
The Sherlock Holmes actor announced the birth of their firstborn in June this year.
"Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter are delighted to announce the arrival of their beautiful son. We would kindly ask everyone to respect the family's privacy during these next few precious weeks," the formal announcement said.
Earlier this year, the Hamlet stage actor has expressed his willingness to become a dad saying that it would make him a better person, as mentioned in Design and Trend.
"I think what children do is enhance your life, they don't inhibit it," he said. "They don't limit it, they give you inspiration and depths of understanding of the human condition and what it is to be on this planet and what our purpose is, that goes well beyond anything a childless actor could hope for."
"I'm so excited to meet my child and it's a huge part of my life and it'll be the most important part of my life, as it should be," he added. "I know, I can speak for many other friends of mine, Martin (Freeman) is another example who springs to mind, who managed to balance a home life and a work life. It's not easy, but then everyone is doing it, everyone I know who has children is managing it, so it's not impossible."
