Melissa Joan Hart Issues Apology For 9/11 Shipping Promotion On Clothing Line
Melissa Joan Hart has surprisingly apologised for offering free shipping to honour 9/11, for customers shopping from her King of Harts clothing line.
It started when the "Melissa & Joey" star posted a rant on Friday, the 14th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, condemning the media for not giving enough coverage for the 9/11 tragedy. She said that television news networks should be covering more if it.
If the media could cover the Kardashians all the time, why couldn't they dedicate a day to Sept 11, she asked, according to hngn.
She announced later that she would offer free shipping to clients at her clothing line who wanted to use the promotional code "911", according to Gossip Cop.
However, Joan Hart's critics slammed her for cashing in on the 9/11 anniversary for herself. The actress however denied the charges and apologised through Facebook on Saturday.
"It was meant to be my small way to give something back. I wanted to cover the shipping charges as a heartfelt gesture, not an exploit of 9/11," she wrote before adding that she understood how the gesture may have been taken the wrong way and viewed as being in bad taste. "I apologize. It was a mistake. I did not want to draw attention away from what the focus of yesterday should have been. And for that, I am sad."
