‘Dance Moms’ Cast Update: Fans Boycotting Season 6?

"Dance Moms" has reportedly lost a lot of its fans after it was accused of being one of the fakest shows on television.

In an opinion piece published on MoviePilot, the author, Maria, makes several interesting points as to why the Lifetime reality TV show about young aspiring dancers and their moms should not have a season six, even though it has already been announced. The show just wrapped up season five.

First, she argued that the show, which started off in a small town dance studio, has lost focus. When the show first began, the girls of the Abby Lee Miller Dance Company were focused on competing and winning. Now, competing no longer seems like a top priority, especially after the company's top dancer, Maddie Ziegler, lost to her younger sister as well as other teams.

Second, even though the show has always been about pushing these young dancers to the point where it became a bit scandalous, lately the "pushing" has gotten out of hand.

Maria wrote: "This reality show was always based on scandal and poor treatment of young dancers, but this season crossed some lines even the fans don't want to see. After the premiere of last season where Miller viciously insulted Chloe Lukasiak and lost one of her best dancers, it was hard to watch this ship sink throughout Season 5."

Third, the show appears to be more centered on building Abby Lee's dance company instead of the dancers' careers.

Regardless of how the show has changed, season six will still be premiering sometime next year. Season six, however, could redeem the show. According to the rumors, Miller and Ziegler, who will be starring in a Sia directed movie, might not be returning to the show. Cathy Nesbitt-Stein could be retuning to the show and might even take Miller's spot if the producers cannot get the dance teacher to return.

The rumors added that the show has been auditioning new dancers.
