Taylor Swift and Katy Perry Feud: 'Bad Blood' Songstress "Obsessed" With Beating Nemesis In Music Charts
Taylor Swift continues beef with Katy Perry and is 'obsessed' in making her singles always hit Number 1 in the charts.
In a report originally from Page Six via Music News, a source said that Swift wants to make sure that all her singles in the 1989 album will beat the Roar singer's standing in the charts.
"She wants seven No. 1s. Katy tied Michael [Jackson]'s record for having five No. 1s from a single album, and Taylor wants to beat Katy. She wants to be the greatest,'" the source said.
The Wildest Dreams singer is said to have extended her efforts in promoting her latest album by reaching out the radio executives, DJ and the media to have an 'intimate listening session' with her before the album was released in October last year.
"She knows all the radio execs by name and how to work a room. She's a complete pro," says the source.
To date, three of her songs-- Bad Blood, Shake It Off and Blank Space have made it to number 1 in the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.
The 26-year old singer does not stop from there. She also tapped award-winning music artists Alanis Morissette, Mary J. Blige, Ed Sheeran and Dan Reynolds to join her on stage to draw more crowd in her concerts, Food World News said.
However, the insider from Page Six said that all her efforts are for geared toward having a 'friendly competition.'
"Of course there's motivation to beat her peers, but it's friendly competition. She's completely focused on delivering great music and a great show. She's so happy with the success of this album. Talk of No. 1 singles is for the label to deal with. She's not even a part of those conversations. She's concerned with her tour and putting on a show," the source said.
Meanwhile, Katy Perry is busy with her ongoing Prismatic tour and is not keen on making new music to compete with Taylor Swift.
In an interview with Hollywood Life, the pop star admits not to make music for a while until her recent tour will get finished.
"I'm still on tour so when I get off tour is when I will start to refocus. I have been on the road for almost a year and I am tired. I have done enough! I have done one-hundred-and-forty-one shows and I have ten more shows in South America so that is what I am looking forward to right now," the singer said.
