A breakthrough HIV prevention drug that is 100% effective in keeping it at bay has emerged from Kaiser researchers.

Scientists claim that PrEP is a very effective prevention drug.

The report was published by the Clinical Infectious Diseases journal. It found that of the 650 people who used the drug PrEP, every single one was HIV negative, according to TIME.

Made of emtricitabine and tenofovir, its popular brand name is Truvada.

Even though the drug has been available since 2012, after it was FDA approved, more trials in the past indicated a lot of success. However, the recent trial is the first to find PrEP 100 percent effective, according to Fox News.

Some experts voice their worries about it, pointing out that it encourages safe sex.

Michael Weinstein of the Los Angeles Aids Healthcare Association agreed, explaining that while it is effective for those who got involved in unsafe sex, it should not be used as a "community wide prevention tool", according to SF Gate.

Those who were part of the experiment were all found to be active. Though they did not get infected with AIDS, scientists found that above half of them showed symptoms of alternate sexually transmitted diseases, according to hngn.
