Reverse Prayer Body Challenge Storms The Social Media
An interesting body challenge is fast becoming popular among teenagers in China as well as the social media globally. This "reverse prayer" challenge has made Chinese teenagers share their images with hands folded on their back.
This is a body challenge craze that tries to flaunt a person's "thin and flexible physique", according to Daily Mail . The Chinese version of Weibo, or Twitter, has made it viral.
Interestingly, the video shows two kinds of participants: the "goddesses" who can successfully "reach their fingertips right around the neck". The losers are those who can just do the pose on their lower backs.
Other teenagers held mobile phones on their hands, to show off that they were even more flexible, said New Zealand Herald.
In June, there had been another important belly button challenge, with the Chinese children trying to reach their belly buttons with their arm going around their body, as HNGN reported.
But now, this new "reverse praying challenge" is also drawing flak. "It is certainly irreverent and insulting to those to whom religion is a key part of their life. Those posting these images should be ashamed of themselves," said one Weibo user, the Daily Mail reported.
The reverse prayer is just a yoga pose called 'Paschim Namaskarasana' or 'Viparita Namaskarasana', as it helps to strengthen the upper body and also tones the arms and abdomen, according to Art Of Living.
