Donald Trump Says He Hopes To Debate With Kanye West, Who Is 'A Nice Guy'
Donald Trump has already set his eyes on the 2020 elections, when he hopes to compete with rapper Kanye West. "I hope to run against him someday," Trump said, according to The Washington Post. Trump was answering West's announcement at the MTV Video Music Awards aired on Sunday night, that he will run for president in 2020.
He found the idea of Kanye standing for President interesting, and wondered who had given him the idea.
"There are comparisons made so often...comparisons with Kanye and myself. I don't quite get it," Trump said.
"[West is] actually a different kind of person than people think. He's a nice guy," Trump said, according to CNN.
What they share is a tendency to be very outspoken and confident. While West attends almost all award shows, he made an interesting gesture that made him memorable at the 2009 MTV VMA event. When award winner Taylor Swift tried to take her statue, he just took the microphone out of her hand. At that time, Trump said he "wanted to boycott West", according to US Magazine.
However, he says now: "He said very nice things about me in the past." Currently, he is running in the Republican primary.
Kanye West, who is a frank supporter of President Barack Obama, will probably run as a Democrat.
