Kim Kardashian is the New Queen of Instagram with 44 Million Followers
Kim Kardashian has dethroned Beyoncé to become the new queen of Instagram.
The reality TV star from "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" has more followers on the social media app than any other user as of Aug. 24. Her 44 million tally barely surpassed Beyoncé's 43.95 million total. Right behind these two ladies is artist Taylor Swift with 43.53 million followers.
The only male celebrity that made it to the top 10 list is Justin Bieber at No. 6 with 36.99 million. Kardashian's two younger half-sisters and younger sister were all in the top 10 as well. Kendall Jenner is currently No. 7 with 35.38 million and Kylie Jenner is not far behind at No. 8 with 33.70 million. Khloé Kardashian, meanwhile, is tenth on the list with 30.52 million followers.
The other stars who made the top 10 include Selena Gomez in fourth (41.84 million), Ariana Grande in fifth (41.69 million) and Nicki Minaj in ninth (32.27 million). The top 10 list does not include Instagram's own account, which has 94.36 million followers.
Kardashian has been gaining followers very quickly. Just three weeks ago, she had about 42 million followers. Kardashian's Instagram is filled with racy selfies and numerous family shots.
According to Tech Insider, Kardashian will most likely stay on top because she posts more frequently and tends to include longer captions, which can attract fans' attention, than Queen B.
