‘Sense8’ Season 2 Spoilers: What’s in Store for the Cluster?

"Sense8," created by the Wachowskis and J. Michael Straczynski, was officially renewed by Netflix on Aug. 8. Now that fans can stop worrying about the show potentially getting axed, they are starting to wonder what could be next for the eight main characters of the show.

With no plot details available just yet, several predictions have been circulating throughout the Internet.

Here are four possible plotlines for season 2 (Spoilers Alert*):

1. The Cluster grows stronger

In season 1 of the hit sci-fi show, the eight main characters, who have been reborn as sensates, learn that they are emotionally connected. As the season progressed, the sensates start to use each other's abilities to get out of dangerous situations. Now that they have realized their abilities, they are expected to get stronger in season 2.

In the season finale, fans saw as Chicago cop Will Gorski tapped into his fellow sensate, Riley's memory, which is something the sensates have not done before. In season 2, when the sensates start to connect more and more with one another, they might be able to tap into each other's memories, allowing them to understand each other better and ultimately grow stronger.

2. What will become of Officer Gorski?

The one main warning that Gorski received throughout the season was to avoid eye contact with Whispers at all cost. Whispers, who is also a sensate, works with a larger group to hunt down clusters. In the final episode, Gorski accidentally makes eye contact with Whispers, forcing a bond that cannot be broken. Now that Whispers is emotionally connected to Gorski, season 2 might address how he and the other members of his cluster work to avoid getting hunted down.

3. Are there other clusters?

Since we already know that there are other clusters out there, theories have been circulating that maybe the main group will meet others like them in season 2. The other clusters could potentially help the main eight sensates train so that they can protect themselves better from threats. Our main cluster could also find others in order to protect them and teach them how to adapt to their new powers.

4. Will the romance continue to bloom?

In season 1, we saw two-romance plotlines bloom within the cluster. The first pairing between Gorski and Riley is expected to continue in season 2 after Gorski traveled all the way to Iceland to save Riley. In the end of the season, Riley cradles Gorski as they travel to find a safe place away from Whispers.

The other romance between Wolfgang and Kala, however, appears to be in jeopardy. In the final episodes, Wolfgang tells Kala that she would be better off marrying Rajan because he is not good for her. After Kala witnesses Wolfgang's killing spree, she might consider just marrying Rajan despite her attraction to Wolfgang.

"Sense8" premiered on June 5. There is currently no premiere date for season 2.
