‘Sense8’ Season 2 Latest Update: Netflix Rumored to Announce Renewal August 8
Will there be a season 2 for Netflix's hit sci-fi original series, "Sense8"?
As each day passes with no renewal announcement, fans of the progressive show are worried that Netflix might cancel the show right when it was getting better and better. However, new evidence suggests that Netflix might be making a renewal announcement tomorrow, Aug. 8!
Actor Brian J. Smith, who plays Chicago cop Will Gorski, tweeted that this Saturday will be a special day for the characters on the show.
I know 8 people who have a birthday coming up. #8/8 @sense8

For those who remember, Aug. 8 is the birthday of all of the eight "sensates." Many are speculating that Netflix wanted to wait for this special date in order to make the announcement, which is why the streaming service did not announce the renewal at the Summer Television Critics Association (TCA) Press Tour last week.
If there is no renewal update by the end of the weekend, there is still a huge possibility that "Sense8" will get renewed. The show's co-creator, J. Michael Straczynski, has remained very optimistic about the show's future.
Other websites, such as MoviePilot.com have continued to explain why it would make sense for the service to renew the original series. In the meantime, fans will just have to continue waiting until Netflix reveals the show's future.
"Sense8" follows the journey of eight characters from different parts of the world who become mentally connected with one another. As they get used to sharing each other's thoughts and skills, they start to join together to fight an unknown threat.
Straczynski talked about the beauty of sharing each other's skills and abilities.
"What's kind of fun about the characters is that what they're sharing are not necessarily superpowers. They have ordinary abilities, and we're trying to say that there is value and merit and power whether you're an actor or you are a martial arts person or a bus driver. You have something to contribute," he said at the TCA Press Tour. "Some of the hardest parts of making that process work visually was in choreographing this entire thing. So, for instance, in the scenes with Sun, we had to stage her fights both in Korea and in Nairobi twice. She would literally start a punch in Korea and then finish that punch in Nairobi. That process of really making that work visually was very involved, very detailed, but sells the illusion of it."
"Sense8" premiered on June 5
