Fetty Wap, a new and upcoming rapper, is quickly making his way to the top.

Fetty Wap, who only started making music two years ago, has gained widespread recognition for his very first single, "Trap Queens." "Trap Queens" was released in February 2014 but only became popular in November. Since then, the song has been on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for 24 weeks. It also peaked at No. 2.

"Trap Queens" has become a platinum record. On SoundCloud the song has been streamed more than 80 million times. The song also got Fetty Wap a spot in XXL's 2015 Freshman Class.

"I don't do this to be famous - I do this so the people around me can live better, and I can live better with them," he told Pitchfork. "A lot of people don't make it from where I'm from; when you got certain dreams, it's just something you see on TV."

Fetty Wap's other track, "My Way," is also making the climb up the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The artist also released "679" last month.

The rapper from New Jersey, whose real name is Willie Maxwell, started to get into music in 2013. Although he started as a rapper, he decided that he "wanted to do something different," which prompted him to start singing as well. Since his mixtapes, Fetty Wap has developed a strong fanbase that started in his hometown of Paterson.

Although Fetty Wap is known for his music, his left eye has also generated a lot of buzz. Rumors circulated that he lost it due to a fireworks accident or to a shotgun blast. Fetty Wap, however, revealed that he lost that eye due to congenital glaucoma.

"When I was younger it used to bother me a lot," the rapper said to Noisey. "Not bother physically, but when people would say how I looked, I fought a lot. I used to fight a whole lot. Now it doesn't bother me at all."

Fetty Wap signed with 300 Entertainment in November 2014 and has been working on track after track in the studio. Fetty Wap promises his fans that there is "a lot more coming."
