‘Bourne 5’ Cast Update: Viggo Mortensen Reportedly offered a Role, Julia Stiles Closes Deal to Return
The fifth installment of the Bourne franchise will be welcoming back Julia Stiles as covert agent Nicky Parsons, Deadline reported. Stiles has already closed a deal for the upcoming flick, which will be starring Matt Damon as the famous assassin, Jason Bourne. Damon already confirmed his return to the franchise last November.
Stiles' character, Parsons, was an ally to Bourne in the first three movies, "The Bourne Identity," "The Bourne Supremacy" and "The Bourne Ultimatum."
For this action-thriller movie, Viggo Mortensen, known for his roles in "A History of Violence" and "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy, could be playing the villain. Jeff Sneider with The Wrap reported that Mortensen was offered the role. Whether or not he accepted it is still unclear.

Alicia Vikander, who most recently starred in "Ex Machina" is also rumored to be joining the cast in a major role.
The movie will be directed by Paul Greengrass, who was involved with the second and third Bourne films. Frank Marshall will be returning as the producer. Plot details have not been disclosed. There is no word on when production for the movie will start.
The first three Bourne movies have grossed almost $1 billion worldwide at the box office. The fourth Bourne movie, "The Bourne Legacy," which starred Jeremy Renner, was an expansion from the original plot line. Damon and Stiles were not involved with that movie.
The untitled movie is set to hit theaters on July 29, 2016.
