NBA Rumors: Marc Gasol Expected to Stay in Memphis

Marc Gasol is not going anywhere. Sources reported the Memphis Grizzles expect their star player to stay with the franchise.

"The Grizzlies will have a full training camp to incorporate Green into their system, with the franchise's full attention turning to the re-signing of first-team All-NBA center Marc Gasol in July free agency. Gasol is expected to stay with the Grizzlies, but no final decision has been made, league sources told Yahoo Sports." Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reported.

Even though Gasol is expected to resign with the Grizzles, he has stated that he will look at all of the offers he gets. During the season, Gasol addressed his impending free agency and stated that he would not rule out other teams just yet.

Mark Medina of the Los Angeles Daily News reported back in January:

"I haven't weighed anything yet," said Gasol, who will discuss his options with his agent, Arn Tellum. "We'll sit down and have a human eye-to-eye conversation. We'll see what we're looking for the next four or five years of my life with this team, different teams and my family. Whatever decision I make, it would be the best."

When ask if the Los Angeles Lakers could be a possibility, Gasol replied, "I won't say no to anything right now. If it's presented to me, I'll think about it. If not, I won't."

Gasol's older brother Pau played for the Lakers during the start of the 2007 season and then from 2008-09 to 2013-14.

The Grizzles are the only team that can offer him a max contract with a fifth year, which means that this deal would include an additional $20 million.
