Bobbi Kristina Latest News and Update: Singer Addicted to Drugs and Suicidal by 14 in Ian Halperin's New Book

Bobbi Kristina Brown was already addicted to drugs and suicidal at the young age of 14, Ian Halperin claims in his new book, "Whitney & Bobbi Kristina: The Deadly Price of Fame."

In the book, Halperin describes Bobbi Kristina as a child who essentially had no guidance from her mother, Whitney, who was dealing with her own drug addictions at the time. Due to the lack of mother figure, Halperin claims that Bobbi Kristina followed in the footsteps of her mother and picked up bad habits.

Halperin's book came out nearly five months after Bobbi Kristina's incident. The 22-year-old was found unresponsive in a bathtub at her Georgia home. Since then, she has not regained consciousness.

In Halperin's book, he theorizes that Whitney's initial problems stemmed from having to keep her feelings for her assistant, Robyn Crawford, hidden. At the time, the two were so close that rumors quickly circulated that there was more to their friendship.

"The media was accusing her of having a bisexual relationship with her assistant," Halperin wrote. "In Whitney's situation, the only solution was to get married and have kids."

After Crawford, who is openly gay, left her post in 2000, Whitney's problems escalated as she and husband, Bobby Brown, went through some of the worst years of their lives.

The book also claims that Bobbi Kristina was only 12 when she first accompanied her mother to a rehabilitation center in Antigua in 2005. Right before the age of 15, Bobbi Kristina was reportedly admitted to a psychiatric hospital after she allegedly tried to stab her mother before slashing her own wrists. She was also already addicted to drugs at the time.

Since then, both mother and child have been trying to fight their demons. Whitney lost her battle in February 2011 when she accidentally drowned in her hotel bathtub in Beverly Hills, California. The cause of death was the "effects of atherosclerotic heart disease and cocaine use."

Bobbi Kristina is still fighting for her life. She reportedly suffered from irreversible brain damage. It is still unclear how Bobbi Kristina ended up in her bathtub but many reports claimed that Bobbi Kristina's boyfriend/fiancé, Nick Gordon was involved. Their relationship has a history of violence and drug abuse.
