During Memorial Day weekend, there was the picture of a Marine praying with his bride-to-be, according to foxnews. But another picture that caught everyone's attention was that of a bald eagle on the top of a gravestone at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Being America's national emblem, the image caught everyone's attention. It made everyone remember soldiers who had served in conflicts such as World War Two as well as the recent ones that raged in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The image was tweeted by the Department of Veterans Affairs on Sunday, and it was immediately caught by all the Americans and went viral.

The photographer Glick and his companion, Jo Edwards-Johns, communicated with Gretchen Carlson on "The Real Story" about the picture and how it has caught everyone's interest. Glick said that he shot images early one morning many years ago, when he saw a bald eagle sitting on a gravestone in the cemetery. He clicked the powerful image.

He also explained that Maurice Ruch, on whose gravestone the eagle was seated, was very touched by the picture, especially as she and her husband both were eagle photographers.

"So it really meant a lot of her in a lot of different ways," Glick explained.

The image became popular on Sunday just a day before President Barack Obama led tributes to Americans who died in battle. At the Arlington National Cemetery, Obama explained that the country should "never stop trying to fully repay them" for their sacrifices and noted that it was the first Memorial Day in 14 years, in which the US forces were not engaged in a "major ground war" according to dailymail.
