Microsoft Planning to Acquire Blackberry

Blackberry, the Canadian smart phone maker was once the largest smart phone manufacturer in the world.  However, with the entry of many other active players in the global market, the largest smart phone maker has now become a marginal player in the market.

The Canadian player took its graph up during the last year, when the sale of its smart phone went slightly upward, with the launch of a number of its flagships such as the Blackberry Z series, Blackberry Passport, etc.

However, it is to be noted that the sale of Blackberry during its fiscal fourth quarter is approximately 1.6 million phones, which is just a small fraction to the number of phones sold by the other players such as Apple, Samsung, etc, in the global market.

Rumours are flouting in the market that, Microsoft had called for the investment firms about the prospect of buying out Canadian smart phone maker Blackberry. Microsoft is now working towards entering the smart phone market, like it did with the Lumia series, and widening its sales and profit in the market. It is not the first time that Microsoft has been rumoured to acquire Blackberry.

A number of companies have chalked their plans to acquire this declining player, but none have been taken ahead. PC Tablet reported that, Chinese technology firms such as Huawei, Lenovo, and Xiaomi have also expressed their interest in acquiring Blackberry. These small players aspire to increase their demand in the U.S and European markets.

Nonetheless, it is to be noted that Blackberry has been one of its kind in the market, and cannot be compromised or replaced with any others.
