Google might be working on a brand new operating system for Internet of Things, according to a new report. Dubbed 'Brillo,' the new operating system could be launched at the upcoming Google I/O, company's conference for software developers.

Brillo will be a lightweight version of Android and will be targeted at low-power devices with 32MB or 64MB of RAM.

Google did not confirm the report.

It will be exciting to see what Google actually has in store for Google I/O next week. At the annual developer conference Google is expected to announce Google Glass 2, updates on Android and hopefully the new IoT operating system.

Internet of Things is being considered as the next big thing. It is a concept of using sensors and other technologies to hook just about anything to the Internet and control them wirelessly.

According to analysts, the number of networked devices will surge to 26 billion units by 2020 from about 900 million in 2009.

Recently, Huawei announced LiteOS, an operating system aimed at providing the "infrastructure companies need to build out connectivity in their devices."
