Trivia app QuizUp recently launched a Facebook-Like site. The website, QuizUp.com offers eerily similar user interface to Facebook - profile details, favorite topics and game history to the left of an always-updating news feed.

Users can post status updates and upload photos, which also allows likes and comments by other users.

Users can also use 'chat' feature to keep in touch with the friends, hidden at a place where Facebook has its chat window (right side of the screen).

"The new and improved QuizUp introduces a new dimension to social networks," the site's FAQ read. "The platform has been fundamentally enhanced, focusing on connecting people through their shared interests, while staying true to its origins as a trivia game."

The service lets users follow other users and topics that fills up your feed with related content and lets you challenge other players directly from their status update.

"When you think of the social networking landscape, there isn't a good place where you can meet new people. Facebook is all about connecting with existing friends, so it's kind of weird when somebody [you don't know] adds you - it's kind of creepy," says Thor Fridriksson, QuizUp's founder and CEO. "Here, you can safely get to know new people, and we think doing that through interests is the way to go. We're trying to create communities where people play each other, and interact with each other."

QuizUp became an overnight success in 2013 by gaining 1 million users in its first week of launch.
