A new drone camera has been unveiled which uses GPS, computer vision and a tracking device to follow you.

The drone is available to be pre-ordered at $499 and is set to be delivered in Feb 2016, after which prices will jump to $999.

The flying camera, dubbed Lily has a 12MP/1080p camera is built in, which enables features such as full waterproofing.

Lily also has a more-durable design. According to Toms Guide, in the event of landing of hard surface, all the impact gets absorbed on the outside and never hits the glass lens.

Reportedly, Lily also leverages computer-vision algorithms to track its owner. After it's tossed in the air, Lily spends about 30 to 60 seconds studying you, Bradlow told me, to memorize what you look like. Afterward, Lily literally watches you in order to keep up, using GPS only as a backup if the computer-vision system fails, Toms Guide reported.

The drone doesn't have a collision avoidance system yet so the company recommends that people fly it in open spaces only. However the company is working with UC Berkeley and will possibly come up with a solution in next two to three years.
