Jason Derulo Rumors: Singer did not Fall at the Met Gala, Was in L.A.

Jason Derulo has addressed rumors that he fell down the stairs at the Met Gala held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday night.

Rumors that the 25-year-old singer face planted spread rapidly on social media.

Based on one picture posted on Twitter, people thought the unidentified man in a white tuxedo who fell at the annual Costume Institute Gala was Derulo. The man appears to be doing a somersault as security guards quickly rushed to his side.

During the night of the event, Derulo was trending worldwide as Twitter users continue to retweet the image.

Once Derulo heard about the photo, he posted this picture on Instagram:

At least Derulo has a sense of humor. The singer also clarified his whereabouts. He wrote alongside the picture, "Lmao I'm at rehearsal in LA. Fuq ya'll! Lol."

The picture that was circulating reportedly dates back to 2011, according to The Huffington Post. The mystery man had unfortunately tripped and fell down the stairs at the Cannes Film Festival in France.

It is unclear how fans got the Caucasian man and the "Talk Dirty to Me" singer mixed up since there is zero resemblance at all. It is also unclear how the dated picture ended up trending, but with Twitter, anything is possible.
