LeBron James Uses Wife’s Phone to Congratulate Chris Paul
Cleveland Cavaliers LeBron James has broken his no media policy to congratulate Chris Paul on his game-winning shot.
During the playoffs, James keeps his phone off and does not use social media at all. James also watches the other NBA games without any noise.
James had said, "I don't have no phones, no social media, I don't have anything. I don't care about nonsense. There's too much nonsense out there. Not during this time, this is when I lock in right now and I don't need nothing creeping into my mind that don't need to be there."
Although James likes to stay cut off from the world, James saw Paul's 2-pointer in Game 7 of the LA Clippers - San Antonio Spurs and just had to call him Saturday night.
James said, after Monday's shootaround, "I called him [Paul] from my wife's phone. He answered the phone and was like 'Wassup?' I told him 'don't say nothing, you're not allowed to reply, you're not allowed to say anything.' I told him how amazing he was and how great he was and I hung up on him. I haven't spoken to him since, it's the truth."
Paul's shot eliminated the Spurs, who are the defending champions. The Clippers will face the Houston Rockets in round 2.
James will prepare for Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinal against the Chicago Bulls without Kevin Love and J.R. Smith. The Cavaliers have not played since April 26, after sweeping the Boston Celtics 4-0 in round one of the playoffs.
"I'm glad the eight days are over. I'm ready to get back to work," James said.
The Cavaliers - Bulls game is set for Monday, May 4 at 7:00 p.m. on TNT.
