Kermit, the renowned muppet frog, seems to have come out in a new avatar. A glassfrog that looks like Kermit It has been newly discovered in the Caribbean foothills, the slopes of Costa Rica.

"He has bulging white eyes, Kelly green skin, the works," according to cnn.

It's got a new name too--- Hyalinobatrachium dianae, or Diane's bare-hearted glassfrog. Otherwise, it can be called H. dianae too, its nickname, released earlier this year by Brian Kubicki and two other researchers, according to newstonight.. Kubicki founded the Costa Rican Amphibian Research Center.

The amphibian biologist Jodi Rowley said that Costa Rica is an "amphibian hotspot" and added that populations of Costa Rica frog have been destroyed by the chytrid fungus.

"The advertisement call that the males of this species produce are very unique; no other known species of frog has a similar call and this was indeed one of the traits that we used for the justification of it being a completely new species", said Kubicki.

The scientific community has got a big breakthrough, then, because the last time a new glassfrog was discovered was in Costa Rica, in 1973, according to the Costa Rican Amphibian Research Center.

"Costa Rica is known to have 14 glassfrogs inhabiting its tiny national territory!" newstonight said. There are about 14 glassfrog varieties found in Costa Rica, the last one described in 1973.

The translucent belly has given it the name of a glassfrog. You can even spot the organs inside the frog.
