Philips Unveils Super-cheap ($5) 60W LED Lightbulb
Philips has introduced one of the cheapest 60 watt equivalent LED lightbulb in the market, starting with just $4.97 USD.
LED lightbulbs save a little on the electricity bill but come with downsides. Incandescent lights in comparison are more warmer and create friendly and flattering light than LEDs.
The new Philips LED bulbs, are available at Home Depot's online shop but currently are out of stock. The bulbs are launching in-stores on May 1st. As a new-release promotion, the company is selling two for the price of one for the next three months.
Thanks to the bulb's shatter-resistant design, it should easily survive its 10-year expected lifespan, costing just over a dollar per year.
