Apple will be releasing two new models of iPhone this year - iPhone 6s and iPhone 7 - according to the latest rumors. Rumors also noted that Apple is halving its smartphone lifecycle this year.

"The new schedule is expected to stagger the releases of two devices in 2015 to capitalize on sales," said The Mail Online in its report. "Apple could release the iPhone 6S to people who want to upgrade to a slightly cheaper model, before announcing its flagship iPhone 7 in the autumn."

iPhone 7 is expected to be coated with Plasma-Assisted Chemical Vapor Deposition (PACVD), on the inside, which is going to make it resistant to moisture.

The iPhone 7 is also rumored to carry the form-factor of iPhone 5 and wireless charging.

Another notable improvement that next-generation iPhones might sport is much improved camera. Recently the tech giant acquired Israeli camera tech company LinX that makes multi-aperture camera equipment for mobile devices.
