Photo-sharing service Instagram recently updated its community guidelines to make it clear on what sort of images are acceptable on its platform. According to the updated guidelines, nudity is - for the most part - out, including "close-ups of fully nude buttocks."

Instagram will now allow photos of "women actively breastfeeding" and shots of post-mastectomy scarring are allowed too.

Instagram also made it clear that shots of naked sculpture or paintings are also fine on the service.

"For safety reasons, there are times when we may remove images that show nude or partially-nude children. Even when this content is shared with good intentions, it could be used by others in unanticipated ways," Instagram said regarding banning nudity of children.

Instagram is also specifically banning photos related to number of other topics, including "offering sexual services, buying or selling illegal or prescription drugs, as well as promoting recreational drug use".

The guidelines also warn that "videos of intense, graphic violence" may be removed even if they are newsworthy in an attempt to keep the site suitable for everyone.
