NBA Rumors: LA Lakers could be interested in trading Nick Young

The Los Angeles Lakers are focused on rebuilding their team and the latest rumors suggest that they might consider trading Nick Young.

According to Mark Medina of the Los Angeles Daily News, the Lakers will "shop Young around" this offseason. The 29-year-old only played in 42 regular season games due to injuries. He shot 36.6 percent from the field and averaged 13.4 points and 2.3 rebounds.

When asked about his inefficiency this season, Young jokingly blamed it on the rim.

He said, via Medina, "I blame it on the rim. The rim was tripping this year. I'll take her on a date and treat her better."

Lakers coach Byron Scott, on the other hand, stated in March that Young is not up there with the basketball greats. Scott said, "He's not having a good year. He'd be the first to admit that this hasn't been the year he expected."

Scott added, "Nick thinks he's up there with Reggie Miller and Larry Bird from a shooting standpoint. But if you look at their shooting percentage and you look at his, he's not there."

Young signed a four-year contract with the Lakers last summer after he had a stellar 2013-2014 season. He currently has $16.33 million left on his contract.
