64-Year Old Japan School Principal Paid 12,000 Women and Children for Sex in Philippines, Clicked Photos

A Japanese school teacher has admitted to paying for sex with more than 12,000 women, including children and indulging in child pornography.

Sixty-four year old Yuhei Takashima was arrested earlier this week for sexual acts with a minor girl in Manila last year, and photographing the incident. During investigations, Takashima admitted to buying sex in the Philippines where he had first gone to work as a teacher in 1988. Investigators found nearly 150,000 photos of Takashima's acts, compiled in 400 albums, Japan Times reported.

CNN quoted authorities saying Takashima was being investigated since 2013. They also said that women Takashima paid were aged 14 to 70 but many were no older than 18 years.

Takashima hails from Yokohama city and had visited Philippines for a three-year stint in 1988. Since his return to Japan after his overseas assignment, he is said to have visited the Philippines 65 times. Takashima retired as junior high school principal in 2011.

The incident has highlighted the notoriety of the sex industry in Philippines which thrives on abject poverty and supports rampant trafficking of women and children.
