Android 5.1 Lollipop Update News: Seeding to HTC One (M8), Moto X, Moto E & Moto G 4G

Android 5.1 Lollipop update is now rolling to high-end devices like HTC One M8 Google Play Edition and other Motorola smartphones like Moto X, Moto E & Moto G 4G.

For HTC One M8, the update weighs 244MB. The update brings a host of bug fixes and improvements to the smartphone headed by beefed up security and HD voice support.

Reportedly, the new firmware will begin seeding in batches. If you own a Google Play Edition HTC One M8, you can head over to your device's settings to check if the update is available.

Motorola, reportedly is also working on to upgrade their Moto X, Moto E, and Moto G 4G units. Software product manager David Shuster, made the announcement using Google+ where he shared related details that the company is working on.

"As some of you might know, we have been testing Lollipop 5.0.2 upgrades on Moto X (1st Gen), Moto E (1st Gen), and Moto G with 4G LTE (1st Gen) in several regions," Shuster wrote. "In parallel, we have started testing Lollipop 5.1, which was recently released by Google."

"Given the improvements in Lollipop 5.1, we have decided to move all efforts to upgrade these devices directly from KitKat to Lollipop 5.1," he added.

According to IBT, the company has already started to distribute the Android 5.1 Lollipop update to the Moto G Google Play edition over the air.
