Artist Plastic Jesus Puts up ‘No Kardashian Parking’ Signs throughout Hollywood

If you are a Kardashian, finding parking space in the Hollywood area will be very difficult.

Artist Plastic Jesus, known as the Banksy of L.A., decided to make a statement about America's obsession with celebrities by putting up signs that read "No Kardashian Parking Anytime." He stated that he got his inspiration one day when he was driving along Melrose Avenue and got stuck in traffic because the paparazzi were surrounding one of the Kardashian sisters.

Plastic Jesus told The Hollywood Reporter that he immediately thought, "How has this become a news event?"

He added, "The Kardashian family has become ingrained in our culture. We've allowed mainstream media to become so profit-driven, we are sacrificing genuine news stories to satiate our vapid celebrity obsessions. I guarantee that same number of paparazzi was far greater than any number of photographers chasing real news."

Before these signs, he was responsible for putting a cocaine-snorting Oscar on Hollywood Boulevard. Plastic Jesus was also behind the "Stop Making Stupid People Famous" campaign.

"'Stop Making Stupid People Famous' often gets blogged as a criticism of the Kardashians. But that piece is also meant to criticize us as consumers. Without us, there would be no market for the Kardashians. We are equally, if not more so, to blame," Plastic Jesus explained. "The same people who will tag these parking signs on social media are the same people who will buy In Touch at the supermarket later this week."

Plastic Jesus added that our culture's obsession with celebrities and their lives cannot be changed overnight. However, he believes that this culture could head in the right direction if news organizations prioritize their stories.

So far there have been no complaints filed in regards to these signs. A spokesman for the LAPD stated that these signs fall under vandalism.
