Men Make First Moves in Sex and Love, Women More Wary, Study Shows

Indicating changing times, a new study reveals men are more likely than women to be romantic and make the first moves to take the relationship forward.

Conducted by sex toy firm Love-Honey, the study showed 26 percent of the men preferred sex on the first date compared to just 15 percent of the women. The study showed that 32 percent of the women said they would till the fifth date to have sex, overturning the accepted norm of going to bed after the third date.

The study also found that men are more romantic with three quarters saying they would bring up the L-word as against 44 percent women. Men prefer to introduce their girlfriends to family after the eight date though only 27 percent of the women are ready for it.

"They are keener to tell their partner they love them but also to outwardly recognise this commitment by changing their Facebook status and introducing their loved one to their parents. Women are a little more wary - preferring to take their time before revealing similar levels of commitment. I think what is encouraging is that British men's stiff upper lip seems to have disappeared completely. They are prepared to be far more open about their feelings and tell their partner their true feelings. That has to be good thing," said Lovehoney co-owner Richard Longhurst according to Daily Mail.

The Lovehoney study involved 2,225 people.
