Human Infant's Chemical Formula Revealed
What does the human body look like on paper? For a biologist in Austin, it is 375 million hydrogen atoms, 132 million oxygen atoms and 85 million carbon atoms and 19 other elements.
Dr. Joe Hanson has given out the chemical formula for the human body at birth which he claims changes during lifetime as result of diet and environmental interaction. As we grow older, nearly 60 elements are traceable in the body, he claimed. The formula when written completely reads Co1 Mo3 Se4 Cr7 F13 Mn13 I14 Cu76 Zn2110 Fe2680 Si38600 Mg40000 Cl127000 K177000 Na183000 S206000 P1020000 Ca1500000 N6430000 C85700000 O132000000 H375000000, Daily Mail reports.
Dr. Hanson said most life comprises largely of four elements and the human body contains the equivalent of 16 kg of carbon. It also contains enough oxygen to fill the volume-equivalent of six elephants and hydrogen equivalent of a blue whale.
The formula was presented on PBS It's Okay to be Smart Youtube channel.
"The adult body contains traceable amounts of 60 elements and all the elements in the human body are worth $ 2,000 in the open market, though you can't really do that," he quipped.
