Indiana Man Assaults Girlfriend After Positive Pregnancy Test
A man is in jail after attacking an ex-girlfriend when she told him she was pregnant.
The Star Press reports that Muncie, IN resident Quentin Jamal Reed has been charged with a number of offenses including domestic battery, battery to a pregnant female, burglary, and theft.
The trouble started when Reed's girlfriend,a 24-year-old who has not been named, sent him a picture message of a positive pregnancy test with a caption that said "We're with child." Rather than notifying friends and family and planning a baby shower, Reed went to the woman's house where he kicked in the front door.
After kicking the door in around 6:30 a.m. March, 31, Reed broke a light and kicked the woman in the stomach. He also took a 3-month old puppy, which accounts for the burglary and theft charges. Reed says the dog is rightfully his.
The woman described her relationship with Reed as on and off for the last three years. Reed has two previous convictions for driving while intoxicated, and is currently being held on $25,000 bond.
