Amazon announced today that Prime Now will be available for customers living in select zip codes in Atlanta, Georgia.

Amazon launched the feature in 22 zip codes today and will quickly expand it to several other zip codes within the city very soon. Prime Now service includes one-hour deliveries on thousands of items that are available for purchase via the mobile app.

"Customers love the convenience of one-hour delivery and we are excited to bring Prime Now to Atlanta," said Dave Clark, Amazon's senior vice president of worldwide operations. "This new benefit for Prime members in Atlanta is fueled by our growing operations and we are excited to continue expanding Prime Now to additional cities this year."

Only Prime members can use the service. In order to use it, they will have to download the Prime Now app, which is available on iOS and Android devices. Once the app loads, it will inform members when the service will be available in their area.

In Atlanta specifically, Prime Now will be available from 8 a.m. to midnight every single day of the week. The two-hour deliveries will be free. However, a one-hour delivery will cost $7.99.

Prime Now is available in other locations that include Baltimore, Brooklyn, Dallas, Manhattan and Miami. Amazon is working to expand this service to other cities throughout the U.S.

A Prime membership costs $99 for the entire year. It offers free shipping on millions of items as well as free access to certain TV shows and movies.
