Two-month old baby '‘transformed into a full-grown man in seconds', Liberian mother claims

A newspaper is Liberia is reporting on a two-month-old baby who grew into a man in seconds.

On the cover page of the Daily Observer is the story of tiny Smith Freeman who turned into a not-so-little man in front of his mother's eyes and ran into the bush.

According to the report, 16-year-old mother Lorpu Kollie Lorpu claims that as she was walking to a farm with her baby, he spoke to her, demanding that she untie a baby sling and put him down.

"As soon as she put Smith down, the two-month-old boy instantaneously began to grow into a full-grown man!'

The report went on to say that Smith was unhappy that his grandmother had been continually insulting him.

Smith's father, Watson Freeman, said his son's disappearance was 'incredible and mind-blowing'.

"This was my first time seeing a two-month-old baby talking so clearly like a five year old child," Lopu told the newspaper.

She added that Smith "did not have any scar or deformity on his body that could convince community dwellers that the baby was somehow belonging to the dark world".

The baby's father, Watson Freeman told the Daily Observer the mysterious disappearance of his son was "incredible and mind-blowing", while Smith's grandfather, Jerome Kowan, claimed the vanishing "is the handiwork of the dark world".

However, commenters on the article, published in Liberia, have had mixed reactions to the news, with some fearful that the story has been fabricated as a cover-up.

'As long as Liberians believe these sort of things, they will never prosper. This is what is keeping people in darkness... fear and superstition,' Jim Terri Cannon wrote.
