Slipknot Guitarist Mick Thompson Stabbed in Head by Brother

Slipknot guitarist Mick Thomson was stabbed in the back of his head during an apparent knife fight with his own brother early Wednesday morning outside the musician's home in Clive, Iowa, local police said.

The brothers both sustained serious injuries, with Mick even having a stab wound in the back of his head, but police say none of the injuries were life-threatening.

According to police, the altercation spilled into the front yard, where the incident became physical.

Officers said both men appeared to be intoxicated and had serious injuries consistent with a fight. Police said Mickael Thomson sustained a stab wound to the back of his head. None of the injuries were life-threatening.

"Neither individual was very cooperative," Clive Police Chief Michael Venema told the Daily News. "Our detectives will be following up as soon as their medical situation allows us."

Both Thomson brothers appeared to be intoxicated at the time of the incident,which was first reported by the Des Moines Register.

No charges have been filed at this time. The investigation continues.

Their manager said the fight would not impact the band's touring plans. Meanwhile singer Corey Taylor tweeted: "Mick Update: from what I've heard he's okay. We're seding [sic] him all your thoughts."

The band is planning a major headlining tour called Summer's Last Stand, kicking off July 24 in West Palm Beach, Fla., in addition to already announced spring dates starting April 25 in Fort Myers, Fla. Slipknot is currently on a break from the road after a string of international dates.
